🍹Dashboard

Your central hub for your trips

The Totepass dashboard is your central hub for managing all your trips and staying organized. This page displays the list of trips you have created or have been invited to, allowing you to easily access and navigate through your travel plans.

Let's explore the key features and functionality of the Totepass dashboard.

Trip Listing

The main section of the dashboard presents a list of your trips, providing essential information to help you identify and manage each trip efficiently.

The following details are displayed for each trip:

  • Trip Name: The name or title of the trip, which gives you a quick overview of its purpose or destination.

  • Dates: This displays the start and end dates of the trip, allowing you to see the duration of your journey at a glance.

  • Planning Status: Indicated by text, this informs you whether the trip is still in the planning phase or if it's already underway.

  • Trip Owner: This indicates the person who initially created the trip and is responsible for its organization.

The trip list is sorted by date, showing recent trips first.

Color cues

For each trip listed on the dashboard, there is a "Go to trip" button associated with it. The color of this button changes depending on your role in the trip. Here's how it works:

  • Pink Button: If you are the creator of the trip, the "Go to trip" button appears in pink. This indicates that you have full access to the trip and can make edits, add destinations, plan activities, and invite others.

  • Yellow Button: If you have been invited to join a trip created by someone else, the "Go to trip" button appears in yellow. This signifies that you have been granted access to the trip as a participant. You can view the trip details, contribute ideas, and collaborate with other participants.

The color-coded buttons help differentiate between trips you own and trips you have been invited to, making it easier to navigate and manage your various travel plans.

Creating a New Trip

To create a new trip directly from the dashboard, click on the "Create a new trip" button at the top of the listing. This will open a popup form where you can input the necessary details to set up your trip. The required information typically includes:

  • Trip Name: Provide a descriptive name for your trip that captures its essence or destination.

  • Planning Status: Specify whether the trip is still in the planning phase or if it has already begun.

  • Dates: Enter the start and end dates of your trip to establish the duration of your journey.

By filling out these details and clicking the "Create this trip", you can swiftly create a new trip without navigating away from the dashboard.

Creating a trip from a blog post

If you come across a blog post that inspires you to plan a trip, Totepass simplifies the process by offering a convenient "Create trip from this post" feature.

When you click on this option, a popup will appear, but with the dates and names pre-filled based on the content of the blog post. This saves you time and effort, allowing you to quickly create a trip based on the information provided in the post, as well as additional information that will be rendered after creating the trip, such as:

  • A template for the content of the trip

  • Places that appear on the post
